Meet Kim
Service Before Self
Kim Thomas isn't just a resident of Michigan; she is a product of its grit, its faith, and its potential. As a veteran who dedicated 20 years to the United States Department of Defense, Kim's life has been defined by a single principle: service before self. Now, she's bringing that mission home to ensure no neighborhood in our State is left behind.
Coming from a family that has fought in every American conflict since the Revolutionary War, Kim understands the cost of freedom and the value of stability. A federal auditor, modern-day farmer, and successful entrepreneur, she knows firsthand the challenges small business owners face because she lives them every day.
I am a federal auditor. I've spent my career finding where the money is hidden. Michigan's budget is massive, but it's full of 'ghost' projects and administrative bloat. We don't need more of your tax money; we need a Governor who knows how to count the money we already have.
Governing a State requires more than just good intentions; it requires fiscal discipline. With an MBA from Spring Arbor University and a federal Auditing Certification, Kim has the professional backbone to overhaul our economy. She views spirituality, a strong moral code, and innovative business not as separate ideas, but as the foundation for a thriving community.
Whether she is in the classroom as a math teacher or feeding the less fortunate, Kim is invested in the people, not the politics. Kim is running to move past the divisive rhetoric of career politicians and focus on what matters: state-level education reform, middle-class stability, and a Michigan that reflects the "good life" God intended for us all.

Proven Expertise
Governing a State requires more than just good intentions; it requires fiscal discipline. With an MBA from Spring Arbor University and a federal Auditing Certification, Kim has the professional backbone to overhaul our economy. She views spirituality, a strong moral code, and innovative business not as separate ideas, but as the foundation for a thriving community. Her vision is simple: transform "ghost town" blocks into centers of profitability where every family — regardless of background — can do more than just survive.
Whether she is in the classroom as a math teacher or feeding the less fortunate, Kim is invested in the people, not the politics. A former collegiate and overseas basketball player, she brings a competitive tenacity to the Capital.
Community First
Kim is running to move past the divisive rhetoric of career politicians and focus on what matters: state-level education reform, middle-class stability, and a Michigan that reflects the "good life" God intended for us all.
As Kim says: "I'm tired of seeing our neighborhoods look like ghost towns while career politicians talk in circles. I have the MBA and the auditing background to clean up our budget and the grit to bring jobs back to our streets. I'm not here for the politics; I'm here to make sure our state finally works for the people who pay the taxes."
The Thomas Prosperity Plan
Real Solutions for Michigan Families
Eliminating Generational Debt
- Protect the family legacy — oppose any state-level inheritance or estate taxes and fight to protect family-trusted businesses ($15M or less) and estates ($3.75M or less)
- Reform auto and health insurance — fight to squash Michigan's No-Fault laws to lower premiums
- A return to living working wages to ensure Michigan families thrive
I'm not waiting for a crisis to act. Federal exemptions are set to drop significantly by 2026, and many in Lansing want to sneak a state tax back in to fill budget holes. I am drawing a line in the sand now: Your family's legacy — up to $15 million for businesses and estates — is off-limits. Period.
No More Ghost Towns
- Motor-Mile community revitalization to transform "ghost town" blocks into centers of profitability
- Infrastructure investment so every family — regardless of background — can do more than just survive
- Support small businesses and local entrepreneurs because Kim lives the challenges they face every day
The current system is a 'catastrophe' for the average family's bank account. We can provide a safety net for the injured without forcing every single Michigander to pay the highest insurance premiums in the nation. We need a market-driven system that provides choice, not a government-mandated system that provides poverty.
Education & Nutrition
- Expanded classrooms
- School food program overhaul
- State-level education reform and middle-class stability
